Pre-ordered and got the book early. Steady slow story progression as expected, but somehow the FMC managed to be more annoying this time.

Welp, here I go again. Hopefully this does it. I've been having a rut, it's been dud after dud on KU for me :(

k, tryna see where this is going. But after nocticadia, might be avoiding this author like the worm plague she wrote about. Her dark premises always sound promising but then actually reading her writing in between the lines makes me gag and cringe.

Starting to lose interest, might not finish series.

Getting harder to finish. I'm tired of the side quests already at over halfway through the book. This is obviously a filler episode of the series.

Maybe I won’t be this snoozed reading this if I haven’t read The Final Girls Support Group. It’s too similar of a premise.

Chapter 9 is full of she says he says. Literally who writes like thatttt 🙄

The first half has been enticing. Switching to Henry’s perspective is starting to feel exhausting.

Couldn’t believe how this book has a long line at all the libraries even the physical books! Found a preloaded audiobook available at one of my local libraries finally.. and the story leaves wanting. I’ve been taking the audiobook with me for a few gym sessions. It’s still entertaining, but not as great as what it’s hyped up for.

Urgh is it so hard to ask for a female lead who’s not annoying??!

Don’t get the hype.

Considering DNF. Reading this is starting to get exhausting. The 1st book of this series is really the only book with good character chemistry.

Over 60% of the book later and it’s still nothing but theories and allusions to it. I should’ve known better from the title anyways. I was just hoping for some monster action. Judging from the pacing of this book, I don’t think I’ll be satisfied.

I thought I would be reading some dark academia but so far I’m starting to feel like I’m back to school as a scholar. I have no doubt the author is an excellent academic. However, the characters are falling flat so far which makes for a bland storytelling for me. I keep hoping there would be more action. I’m still at Book II so I gotta give it more time I guess.
