A delightfully weird book. A quirky blend of cozy mystery and creeping horror—Miss Marple meets eldritch demon. Sherry is a fun protagonist: sharp, a little flighty, and totally caught off guard by the supernatural mess unraveling around her. A recent murder pulls her into something darker, the sheriff’s acting strange, and now her cat is disturbingly articulate. Cozy murder with tentacles—I’m absolutely here for it.

When you are enjoying a book, just reading along, and then BAM! Someone ripped off the second half of the book and took another book and glued it on. Right about 50% there is a shift of perspective from one character to another and...totally different book. And not one I'm enjoying now.

Picking this up after not having read a Dragonlance book in 30 years. Enjoyable so far!

Enjoying this very much. “If one’s friends do not openly laugh at him, they are not, in fact, his friends. How else would one learn to avoid saying those things that would elicit laughter from strangers? The mockery of friends is affectionate and inoculates against foolishness." ~Little Ozzie

I'm not sure about this one. It's kind of X-Men meets Pound Puppies. Sort of a Xanth without the puns. And I'm not getting Klune's "humour".

"The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work; unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision. That is why I have not put in, or have cut out, practically all references to anything like 'religion', to cults or practices, in the imaginary world. For the religious element is absorbed into the story and the symbolism." ~J.R.R. Tolkien, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien

This feels sooooooo long. It's not unenjoyable, but it just feels stretched out longer than it needs to be. Hopefully there will be a big payoff in the end. You never know with Hendrix if you're going to get funny or decidedly not funny. This is the latter.

Not sure about this one. There's the depiction of rape to drive a storyline and then there's the gratuitous, extremely violent depiction of rape and murder. I don't need to read a literary Faces of Death...
