This feels… messy. It started off strong with one key plot point that was very interesting but it feels like it’s lost its way and we have about 3 different plots going on and I’m curious to see if and when they will all intertwine.

The premise was interesting and some parts are thought provoking but I’m kind of just waiting for this book to get to the point it’s trying to make…

Awwwww cyrus and Alizah forever

Honestly I don’t even care that some of the plot points are nonsensical or force the reader to suspend disbelief. I love the found family/character building/angst.

I really thought I was going to be pro Kamran and Alizah all the way by Cyrus and his angst got me side eying…

As much as there are certain plot points that require a suspense in disbelief, I actually am having a good time with the main characters’ chemistry and conversations.

I think I need this sort of angsty intrigue to shake up the reading slump I’ve been fighting through. Different from my normal reads but that’s exactly what I need
