Dune slips out of one's mind like sand if not read daily. I get it, it's a classic, blah blah blah, but sh*t if this doesn't have The Slowest Start of any book ever. I'll finish this dense mf because I actually like the story (thank god for the movies) and lore (and nerd cred of course), but Herbert's prose IS painfully tough at times.

Not even past the first half of the first chapter I'll say with utmost confidence: BULLSHIT. Anyone who's lived or living in Japan with half a brain is able to see the glaring inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the text. No way this is a truthful memoir. I wouldn't be so pissed had this been marketed as a novel. Fake journalism.

I still can't believe where Howl is actually from! I've seen the film a thousand times, never read the book before. It's like a strange "Director's Cut". Pretty good so far.

Finished the second book The Subtle Knife. I'll write down some thoughts a little later.

I've been reading this way too slowly. It's been months since I last touched this book.

Finished the first novel Northern Lights. Will write a short review later this week.
