At this point in the book, Miller is talking about "career hikers" - people who work simply to save up for their next adventure, who live pretty unconventional lives and don't care so much @ climbing that career ladder or acquiring possessions. Now I don't live this kind of life, but find that I am totally fascinated with people who do! Hike your own hike and live your own life!
