This has grabbed me and not let go. This is the best literary fiction I have read in a long time. The author delves deeply into the protagonist's mind. There is as much thought in this book as there is dialogue, and it's all necessary to understand the story as it develops. There are a lot of words, but not a single word too many. This is a fascinating study of love, trust, honesty, obligation, and determination.

A fascinating journey so far. Early in the book, but it is well written, and VERY informative, quite descriptive, and mucho educational. This is not a Jesus book. It is a history lesson. And a good one.

I would have given 5 stars 50 pages ago. Patterson lost steam at the climax of this fun and suspenseful book. The end was rushed and disappointing.
