had to dnf this book bc i left for a trip and was not going to drag it across the world with me. like it enough to finish upon return but so far it has not charmed me the way her other novels do

taking my time & savoring this book

the men of this book (unfortunately, the protagonists) are absolutely detestable. i wait for one chapter to be over to escape one miserable man only to be faced with another. if this is a commentary on how grief makes people difficult to deal with, i reject it and counter that these characters are just terrible people
