This was a long book, but I loved that the author shared the history of Black Portland and built a narrative around interconnected relationships and forgiveness. I also loved that the author was frank about the internal and external experiences of fatphobia for Black women. I thought the book would dwell much more on the romantic relationship, but I’m glad it ended up being so much more than that.
