Suzi is starting The Mortons
It started off well but none of the characters were likable. I found them conceited and weird. After reading a third of the book, I put it down because it wasn’t my kind of book. I love thrillers and mysteries yet this was plain strange and ruthless. The characters were only developed in the story to the extent that they carried out violent acts.

I couldn’t finish this book. It was not overly interesting and didn’t keep me wanting to find out what really happened. Perhaps too many policemen and women with interwoven, dysfunctional relationship for me. It would have been better if other characters had surfaced as the victim and predator. I lost interest after reading half the book.

Cliched about the South! Includes righteous white women who think delivering a pecan pie to a black caregiver in a settlement will solve everything.

Has a vampire, a rat plague that kills an elderly woman, and black children disappearing mysteriously. The women’s’ group think it is the new racist white guy. They are correct.

I thought this was a terrible story and life is too short for reading books like this.

A good story with topics that were not easy to talk about in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Loving it!

Stacey writes well yet the story plot is convoluted and unbelievable. It has everything from Supreme Court Judge being in a coma who holds the balance of power to a corrupt President to DHS to FBI to a biogenetic testing company owned by a man in South Carolina who is in cahoots with a lady in Indian who is ill. Not to forget the law clerk the comatosed Judge left as his POA. All a bit far-fetched.
