Love is beautiful fear

It’s the very fact that it’s finite that makes traveling special.

“I’ve never really felt alone since I met you. I don’t think I’ll ever feel truly alone in this world again as long as you’re in it.”

He saw me, and he loved me.

Plus we’re entirely incompatible.

I looked at him and erupted into slaphappy exhaustion-laughter, which
triggered his trademark chagrin.

That crush of happiness, that feeling that this is what life’s about: being
somewhere beautiful, with someone you love.

A queen offers her hand to be kissed, & can form it into a fist while smiling the whole damn time.

Carlsen stared at her for a long moment, looking suddenly like he did during seminar, when people mixed up theory and hypothesis...

I cannot see her eyes. This is how she hides her thoughts. Some things never change.
