I also wish the author would stop trying to gaslight us that Kai is witty. Kai is not witty, he is cringe. Yes 20% of his comebacks are a little funny, but most of what he says are OTT cringy hyperbole. I wouldn’t mind it as much if wasn’t every other sentence he says. It’s too OTT and not subtle enough to be witty bc it happens too often.

Why does Derek forget to speak in fulk sentences as soon as Kai is around? It was cute at first but now its just getting annoying and rediculous

Please tell me the romance isn’t between the adult (29 yr old) adoptive parent and a literal 17 year old child? Wtf? I don’t mind an age gap, but not with between someone who is nearing 30 and a literal high schooler—I mean make him at least drinking age. Not to mention the fact that the MC is acting as a parent and caregiving to this 17 year old. Ew. This is gross.

This book is so pretentious but I kind of love it. It’s a love hate relationship right now. I feel like Richard and the twins need to be better fleshed out, they’re very bland compared to Henry and Bunny. But I love the machinations currently going on and love the philosophical discussion in Richard’s first lecture. I wish we got see more of those lectures.

This book is so much better than I expected. Did not expect it to portray so much interesting intense psychological warfare between governments as the outbreaks starts.

Making the outbreak take a long amount of time to speed world wide made for some really interesting stories.
