The history part of this is good but the guides are really annoying, especially the gen z one who seems antagonistic and negative about everything, especailly "older" things (this is a history book!). For the history, it jumps around in chronology a lot and the flow is not smooth. It will talk about Nintendo, starting with Donkey Kong and then jump to other major Nintendo titles, only to come back to Donkey Kong

Ok, I finally realized the thing that was throwing me off about this book. Yea, you have your obvious Harry Potter and Narnia connections but... it's also a lot like Gossip Girl. Just over privledged bored kids getting into trouble.

"Your mind resists death with all its might" - on how hard it is to accept that the people we've lost aren't around anymore. So true.

The book I'm listening to (this one) is more interesting than the book I'm reading and I've taken to hiding out in the guest room to listen to it.
