Fascinating story with so many literary references that I’ve gone down several rabbit holes, rereading excerpts of Shakespeare, Gilgamesh, Frankenstein & other goth novels, and some Greek stuff too.
Also - is this “Steampunk”?
If so, then Steampunk Lit. is definitely new favorite thing.

Chesterton is insufferable!
He is right but he doesn’t even know why. I find it maddening.
Debating a topic he admits he knows nothing about, a “diss track” if you will to HG Wells.
Snark and irony lose their charm when hurled with great ignorance at a Straw Man.
If only a scientifically liters writer as witty as this “theologian” has taken up Chesterton’s argument- now THAT would be a great read.
