This somehow makes Covid feel like a historical event that happened in the remote past. The way she calls up the absurdity of what life was like then is really potent.

If I told you a recap of the plot it would never sound interesting to me, but I can’t put it down and now I’m writing text messages pretending to be Jane Austen.
