Some light reading on this Christmas Eve. I've been putting off jumping back into the Rinaverse but it feels like the right time to get angry with an arrogant MMC so here we go.

I just can't believe two books worth of emotional damage and Game of Thrones level trauma is all because a man couldn't take no for an answer.

Two things I'm learning as I delve deeper in book 2. Thing 1..I have no clue who's gonna end up with who by the end of this series. It could end up a full all kingdoms grouple, everyone may end up dead and alone in the afterlife, or any number of pairings in between. Thing 2..Plot armor does not exist in this universe and it's messing with my trust issues.

Yeah I have to dive right into book 2 because book 1 was insane. I'm honestly terrified right now.

The multi POVs in short succession and expansive world building coupled with past and present character introductions has actually stressed my poor little brain. If you want a nice brain power challenge this is a fun one.

There are 8 kingdoms in this book and I kid you not, the Shadow Kingdom is giving Addams family vibes. I know this is a darkish series so I'm terrified for these loving, black hearted royals.

Back on that fantasy grind. My moods rule my life I swear! RIP my contemporary tbr!

I think I figured out who the MMC reminds me of. Andrew McCarthy's character in Pretty in Pink. He's supposed to give off BDE but his main form of communication is staring. I would think he's trying telepathy if we didn't get his POV enough to know there isn't a lot of furniture occupying the apartment upstairs if you get my meaning. Send help!

This being a 2nd book in a series, I was hoping for some growth from this MMC but he is weaker than a new born kitten. This man let's everyone walk all over him. If he doesn't nut up soon I'm not sure I will finish this book.

Does this book have a pretty good Romantacy foundation? Yes. Is this story unloading painfully slowly? Also yes.
