Good, fast read. I liked the cliffhanger end. Will probably read the next book.

Couldn't finish. Maybe it's my age and I just couldn't relate but I wanted to punch the main character in the face for being a douchebag. I would usually like the abrasive, no b*llsh*t type of character but I just, want feeling it. I wanted him to grow up and get a life. Haha...GROW UP....maybe that's the whole point of the book. Lol, I just figured it out....huh???

Couldn't finish. I liked the extra information that the show doesn't cover and the info that was different than the show, but it was so boring at the same time. Maybe if I were in another mood. Not bad worrying or anything, it's just me.

81% done. Tried to finish this. I really like this book and getting the small details that are not in the show but its so boring. Its well written and anyone who likes to read this genre will love it. It just isn't my type of book.

Read this many years ago, but decided I was going to start it over and read the entire series.

I almost quit reading it in the first 45 pages because the writing is so choppy its annoying. I also had to take into consideration it was written in the 70s so the lingo is a little strange for me. The writer starts with the mom's acting career which was boring, but now the good stuff is starting so I will continue on and see how it progresses.

So far so good. I was afraid I would be wasting my time on this book because of the mixed reviews. It is a slow read but I like it so far. It is written so intelligently and shows the author's vast knowledge in history and alchemy. It is also very rich in detail without dragging on and boring me.

Scarlett finally professes her love to Ashley bit is rejected. Even worse, Rhett Butler was there to witness the entire disaster. Before the ball could begin the men here word that they were gathering men for the fight and she accepts Charles proposal and immediately regrets it as she still loves Ashley. She is a woman scorned.

I like how Scarlett is questioning everything she has been taught to be. She doesn't understand why a man would be interested in a "helpless doe eyed " girl. Scarlett is determined to grow and do and say what she likes and doesn't care what anyone thinks. She said she doesn't want any man that doesn't have the sense to know the woman is playing a role just to get him to marry her. Smart girl!

Scarlett has convinced herself that the only reason Ashley is marrying Melanie is because he must not be aware of Scarletts affections. She has concocted a plan to reveal her feelings to him and she most certainly become his wife instead....

Finished with ch 3 which covers Geralds beginnings and also his wife Ellen. Ellens life as a wife and mother was not easy nor happy but she knew her place as a great southern woman. Scarlett always held her mother in high regards but like her mother she was not.
