Meredith is starting Why We Can't Sleep: Women's New Midlife Crisis
I know why I can’t sleep. I don’t need a reminder, I read to escape all the stress. Reading this just made me feel more stressed.

Why We Can't Sleep: Women's New Midlife Crisis

Meredith
Meredith is starting The Four Winds
Of all the Kristin Hannah books, this one was impossible to put down and took me less than a week to read, which is completely unlike my normal pace of about a month. I was shocked by how little I knew of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. I am sad I knew so little of America’s terrible history and how we treated our own citizens and immigrants just trying to survive and earn a decent wage for labor.

I didn’t really understand it but it was over before I could question too much. This is a 30 minute read, a succinct short story about love and sacrifice. The brevity made the better because I don’t get it.

Soft, light and funny. This is an easy, fall for the characters read. Having worked in independent school admissions for many years, this book was highly relatable and I just couldn’t stop laughing. I’ve been in Josie’s shoes countless times. It was awesome to have a book I could really connect to, but it was fluff and fluff is not my tea. I like substance, not sorbet. I enjoyed it as a guilty chick lit book.

Meh, like tepid tap water. Really expected better from friend reviews. If Elliott is described one more time as “pushing his glasses up his nose….” Just get lasic surgery then. It’d annoying and repetitive. Overall the book was ok, as predictable from page 5 as it was from the last page. It was semi boring and the romance was lame. Not that into it.

This is a tome. And take a LOT of time. But Tully and Kate are unforgettable and I did not see the end coming. Their friendship is magic, their love is deep, and this book makes the reader feel. Everything. Which is the main point of reading fiction, to feel, to escape, and to remember.

I finished it. But very lackluster. It had an intriguing beginning and some catchy sections, but other than that, it was boring. I like video games, I liked the concept, but I didn’t like the repetitive boringness.

I really hate quitting a book but there are too many great books to read instead of wasting my time on air. I expected fluff but this doesn't even make that level. I quit.

This book was thoroughly confusing and began to feel like a waste of time so I quit. I did not ready beyond page 50.
