this book would be so much better if it had gone full fantasy and not tried to do a weird parallel world war two - i’m sure it’s not the author’s intention but having dragons as a group who are being persecuted by the government and throughout europe while also being like inherently dangerous to humans is a weird vibe. also maybe don’t have everyone working at bletchley park be criminals it’s weird

this feels like someone read babel and thought ‘i could do that’ without having anything interesting to say or understanding what made babel good in the first place

moomintroll hearing about a girl for the first time in his life, saying ‘psssss women’ then having an adorable dream about meeting her is the sweetest thing i’ve ever heard

this book sucks so bad why is the plot just people ruining international relationships for the sake of their greasy ass teenage boyfriends i hate it i hate it i hate it also every page there’s a new character who tf are any of these people

i’m loving it so far! (although i think i worked out exact why evelyn chose estelle within about 5 pages of their meeting)

i was so focused on the parallels between vincent and miranda from station eleven that i almost missed miranda actually showing up!!

i bloody love a book where there are loads of plot threads that all tie neatly into a bow at the end - i’ve only just started this one but i can already tell the ending is going to be immensely satisfying

(also the frequent references to station eleven make me very happy i also love when an author writes books which are separate but kinda share a universe and some characters)

it’s growing on me! i still don’t understand a solid 30% of what’s happening though
