(Context, he was about to try to engage Sir Percy in a duel, but Sir Percy ain't having none of that. Demmed uncomfortable things, duels.)

REALLY, Fforde?? Apparently women aren't capable of being detectives without hitting on attractive suspects as well as other attractive detectives. Every thought she has is either #1) About an attractive man, or #2) About how to further her career.

This is even worse than the first. Dull and very predictable, especially with the growing romances that I know are going to drive me up a wall. Maisie is a terrible character. Power through, Cassie.

My money's on <spoiler>the "hunky" diner guy</spoiler>...
