Caroline Brassard is starting Evil Eye
What a wonderful find. Enthralling, original, well written, well acted. I loved everything about this play. Modern meets mystical life, family tradition meets mental health and beliefs… really entertaining. The production with background sounds and music is also worthy of praise. All around excellent performance. Have a listen!

It’s a 3.5 for me. Interesting initial plot but very repetitive style of humour. Light and probably more enjoyable with the visuals but not recommended as a read or a listen.

You can feel the influence of Poe, but also British gothic style. But mostly that of an author being ravaged by disease which stains his thoughts into darkness and despair.

Eclectic set of short plays, loved the absurd style and dry humour, enjoyed the experimental fast paced Speed-The-Play. Mass me want to watch it on stage because the visuals would really add to the experience. As an audio book it’s a 3.5 for me though.

4.5 for me… a completely different approach to writing and one that opened my mind to this back and forth structure almost stream of consciousness but historical and raw and tough. Memorable for its originality and striking descriptions of WWII.

Caroline Brassard is starting The Body in the Library (Miss Marple, #2)
Christie’s Miss Marple was written in 1942 when she was 52. The tone is lighter than with Hercule Poirot, more mature of course, but not very intricate technically, from an audio perpective. Actors sounded more like they read a text and didn’t feel it as much as one would expect. The storyline is as twisted as ever, impossible to figure out, and there lies Christie’s charm.
