Chapter 20, an adventure with his children once they turn 10, made me realize that spontaneous adventures really do put a lot of trust in God. At the end of the trip, we realize He shapes who we became along the way. Bob really emphasizes God’s plans in Chapter 22, hearing aid, saying that at times we don’t receive all messages via sound, instead “he passes us each other”.

I love his Chapter 14, when Bob tells the story that Paul told Timothy to watch people who faked it. To me it resonates in the sense that, someone may try their best to pretend, but the way we can tell someone’s intentions are in their actions, not always, but a consistency in their actions. I really loved Chapter 17, the candy store chapter. The old man who manages the store says “we” have to find more change.

I really enjoyed his chapter 10, where his kids write to world leaders in hopes of being invited for meetings. The reason being, was one of the quotes that the leader had mentioned about friends which was this, “A friend doesn’t just say things; a friend does”. These glimpses of philosophical ideas are what I enjoy most about Bob’s work. The quote, about what a friend means, resonates with me completely.

I am starting to familiarize Bob’s piece of writing. It is broken into chapters of his life and with philosophical meaning behind each of them. For instance, Chapter 6, “Go buy your books”, gives the lesson that if you are persistent, even when you’ve lost hope, faith will guide you to accomplishing your goal, in this case it was for the Dean to tell him “Go buy your books”.

Some of Bob’s work so far has had great inspiration. He starts off with some of life’s greatest regrets, “passing on the chance to cross over [to do a dream goal] is an overall attitude towards life rather than a single decision. Then, in the first chapter, he talks about one of this high school friends, who drops his honeymoon, to purse Bob’s dream of living out a dream in yosemite.
