I really wish I read this in secondary school before or at the time when I started reading vampire books. It serves as a really complete foundation for the lore.

I get it, I really do but it should have been shorter

Not the ‘training’ your love interest with candy that’s got me feral because of animes!!!

The most basic of romances with even more basic love interests. And ahh, the iffy magic system.

I think this has to be the least interesting of her books I’ve read and that sucks because it had good bones…to an extent.

Now I know where I got some of my first sex ed from. Now it’s fascinating recalling the age I started reading these books from! God Hepp is.

It’s also amusing to see the focus and perspective in these romances from the 90s

Re-reading this, because right now, I mentally want to be that child sneaking off to my mom’s room to curl up next to her library, furtively reading her romance collection

Sometimes a story is just a beautiful sad one.

Kath enabled this Ruth girl too much.

Not me constantly rolling my eyes when Ruth’s making up something again and dragging everyone to play along.

It would feel exhausting to have a friend like this really; mood watching, gauging words, smoothing things over. Sigh

Sure they don’t be grooming these people for their organs?

Now this saga with all the twists and lessons, I enjoyed.

Pardon me when I say that this plan shouldn’t exactly work.

So when they go back to their abodes, aren’t there people to remind them of why they went to the palace in the first place?

Catechism existing side by side with Norse gods, is something I haven’t read before.

With the concept of believers fanning the existence of gods lightly threaded in this, I look forward to the references of the different citizens, their gods and how they co-exist.

In this aspect, this book is touching my current need.

Not me smiling sheepishly! It’s reminiscent of a kdrama because they be doing the best slow burn, making you blush that two characters are holding hands after seven freaking hours

Yeah. That is peak Keanu. Now I want to watch him and Rachel Weisz together again

Chef’s kiss. The fleshing of the concept of how victors are the ones that write history placed side by side with Nathair and Corban’s belief of self is beautifully done.

And it’s even better because both characters are charismatic enough to hold the ideals of greatness and duty.

I love this twist. Now will Corban break like Nathair did in face of the truth?

The fact Arthur gets to be a Nepo Baby? I’m jealous

Really atmospheric visuals, I could see it Laurel Ridge even with my eyes open.

You know what, I’ll bite. I’m curious how this would be resolved because if this was reality short of him recovering from psychosis attack, nothing can fix this

Okay no no no. I can’t find this cute. My need for order and this flagrant disrespect of space and property even in a book is triggering the mild bits of my OCD

Bro’s blasé attitude is reading too much as bum for me to like him as a character

It was forgivably hilarious until it turned irritatingly long.
This book could have ended in half the pages it had.

Even worse, the story went straight to the dumpster by like the mid mark.

And that ending was such shit. My eyes were a dessert and all I could think of was ‘thank God I’m done with this rubbish’

I need the paperback of this

These people do be kissing everywhere in the open and nobody has caught them yet?!

I feel savagely vindicated as I say ‘good riddance’ as a response to that phone call in the end
