What an absolutely beautiful little book.

Incredible. The writing is so simple, yet so powerful.

The writing and characters were great. I love the story, but the pacing is off. It is riddled with long, loooong passages that don't really advance the plot. The writing reminded me a lot of Jeannette Wall (Glass Castle). While this book didn't knock my socks off, I'll be interested to see what this writer has in store.

What a strange little book.

I love Jenny, but this one went on a little long for me. Probably more like 3.5 stars.

Probably like a 3.5. It was a fun read.

I have a feeling this book is brilliant. But so far it's been really hard to get into. I'm going to keep plugging away and hope for a great payoff.

This didn't feel like a novel. It felt like an author practicing with her characters in her journal. It lacked a cohesive story: It was more like vignettes strung together than a true novel. Some of the writing was sublime, but some of the writing was downright confusing (and disturbing). I wouldn't even associate this book with TKAM at all. While the character names are the same, it in no way continues that story.

I picked this up on a whim, and I'm really loving it!

This book is a monster. It's all over the place, time-wise, which can be pretty confusing when reading at midnight. But Kate Atkinson's books really immerse you, no doubt. If I could read it in one sitting, I would. Onward.
