Let it be known that I did not read the synopsis of this before picking it up. I just heard dystopian and was game. So I was GOBSMACKED when Matias died 🤣💀 And that’s not a spoiler! It’s literally in the synopsis of the book lmaooooo

I’m in my dystopian era. Should i pick shatter me back up? I hated the first one but I fear that may have been because I was in my romance era at the time I picked it up. Lmk thoughts.

I’m at the point where I’m fully not understanding like 80% of the sentence’s because they’re taking about so much technology/computer stuff but I’m still having a great time so it’s fine.

I like I like this book a lot. It’s doing wonders for my reading slump but the fact that it takes place less than 20 years in the future and they’re taking about things that are affecting the world now basically the same way they are in the book is crazy. Also the way humanity is so dependent on technology is scaring me. Like this could genuinely happen to us.

I know in my heart that anytime they talk about “vintage” consoles without naming what they are that they could be ps5’s and switch 2’s (I know this was written in 2011 when those didn’t exist yet but my assumption is that the author intended for someone to read this for the first time in the future and be as gobsmacked as me)

The part about the cars piled up all being perfectly fine when they were left but they were abandoned by their owners because they could no longer afford the gas prices is INSANE actually. That TOOK ME OUT.

Slowly but surely I’m getting though this. I like it but I feel like this is the type of book that I want to read while sitting in the sun on my porch and its not the right time of year for that yet (plus I have yet to buy any porch furniture)

Look I’m marking all the fics and currently reading because I’m flying though them at a rapid pace and this just makes my life easier.

This is the problem with falling back into reading fics. I between when I’m reading I find good recs for other stuff and then start reading that and fall into a continuous cycle of starting something and not finishing it 💀

This is not the fic I’m reading but it’s by the same author so I’m using this as a placeholder

Despite the fact that I can now count certain fics towards my reading goal, I will not be rating them. Because that’s weird.
