I will get through this book and be glad it is finished. There have been some interesting snippets, but overall I’m not impressed. I actually like Brown less and kind of wished I hadn’t run across the book at the library.

Pretentious. I loved watching Brown on Food Network…now I’m not so sure. This is why I don’t like to read autobiography/biography books. This took the magic out of Good Eats and Cutthroat Kitchen

It’s okay so far. Each chapter is its own story/essay/rumination…some are better than others. I feel like he took a thesaurus and threw a dart and tries to use the word. I know he seem to talk that way on TV, but it seems pretentious in the book.

It’s okay so far. I like the idea of the storyline but it’s a little slow to get into.

Eh…it’s okay. Not the best I’ve read by this author. The characters are shallow so far and I’m struggling to stay interested and to want to continue to read.

A little bored with the book at this point. I keep thing “good grief, you are a twit just make a decision”

I have the characters figured out and the books has been good, surprising, but a little bit shallow as well.

So far it’s interesting but a LOT of names and characters introduced already. Had to backtrack to figure out the connections.

VERY repetitive at this point. Characters keep doing the same things and the story is not moving forward. Skipping paragraphs at a time and skimming a lot to get through the book. Hoping it picks up again and gets better.

I’m struggling with this book. I usually love J. Lindsey books but this one is dragging and not very interesting. A lot of repeat actions and words and nothing is really moving forward.
