I am ashamed to say I don’t like the writing style of these old books very much. Agatha Christie, the Wicked series, and now this book. There are too many trivial moments that don’t seem worth including but I suppose it goes to show the over simplification of modern books. Otherwise the women characters are not my favorite. They and their interests are talked about in such a demeaning way.

The twist definitely was a twist.

Twist is good. Main girl is dumb but yeah.

This women is so judgy and has no room to be. She keeps confronting people with no leg to stand on. Also I’m starting to think the killer is Chelsea. She found the first body and was alone for the opportunity of the second.

I don’t get why Brooke kept James. We learn that she definitely does not want a child when they discuss the condom situation. She is 17 with a full ten year plan. And largest of all! She thinks the father tried to kill her.

All the reasoning we are given for her making the choice to keep him doesn’t really exist. It’s out of character which is crazy to say because this is the source material.

Okay there are a few options here. One: everyone is being manipulated by Shane. Two: Tim is evil and almost got away with murder but doesn’t and tries to kill Brooke again because she finds out the truth. Three: Brooke is the murderer and all her memories are false.
