RavenNoir is on page 255 of 412 of The Venice Sketchbook
First time reading this author, very impressed by the writing; a signed hardcover edition from my sister Cathryn's collection that she doesn't appear to have read before she passed away in September. 😭

RavenNoir is on page 320 of 688 of The Shining
Reading this in small doses of an hour or two at a time. Very dark, darker than I remembered from years ago. Wondering if I actually read it before because I don't remember any details, just the broad outline.

RavenNoir is on page 392 of 464 of The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
So far, mind-boggling and, despite being written 10 years ago, still relevant. TW, as some of the cases he cites are truly horrifying as to how severely abusive parents can be to their children, not just the cases about war veterans.
This is not recommended for casual reading nor even for self-help but more of a clinician reference. My OB-GYN recommended it to me for a better understanding of my own iss[char limit]

RavenNoir is starting Believing the Lie (Inspector Lynley, #17)
Got about a third of the way through but then lost interest and now, years later, I must mark it as "abandoned." I loved the entire series with Inspector Lynsley until the last book or the one before that (no spoilers but when a major character was killed off senselessly) and it hasn't been the same since.

RavenNoir is on page 66 of 270 of Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World
fascinating. I look forward to making being mindful a regular part of my life, to pick up again where I left off so many years ago.

RavenNoir is on page 176 of 256 of Plight of the Living Dead: What Real-Life Zombies Reveal About Our World--and Ourselves
p176- author writes that he "spent a rather unhappy nine months as a copy editor at a dental marketing firm" ... "Nine goddamn months of (his) life."

Stunningly horrifying examples of nature's "zombifiers" and their manipulations based on chemicals and neuroscience, and I'm barely into this book. The tiny scale of wasps, caterpillars, ladybugs, ants etc. does nothing to relieve the horror of being bodysnatched and having your brain overwritten...
just Google "ophiocordyceps" as one example... evolution over the millennia.

RavenNoir is starting Les Misérables
Have read the first chapter or so of this, it was a free book and one of the first ones I d/l to my Kindle, enjoying it so far. Have d/l other titles to my Kindle but been hard to find time to read in the past few years. Hope to get back to this before the end of the year... especially since one of my patients also started reading this on her Kindle, but neither of us has yet finished it!
