I just re-read this because it was one of my favorite books as a horse crazy kid. :-)

Struggling to keep reading it. All of the grammar and word choice errors are making it difficult. I'm mostly curious to see where this writer goes with this oddball concept. I find it difficult to believe this story needs a whole 2/3 more book to complete its telling, though.

This one has quite a bit of sections which have had me almost falling out of my chair laughing. Having it read by James Marsters just makes it that much more hysterical. He's awesome! LOL

Amusing so far, though I can't compare it to the original since testing out of most of my English classes in high school and college spared me from it.

I've had this book recommended to me by several people who got o Apollocon, so I'm finally getting around to reading it. LOL

This collection is kind of hit and miss so far as I have no interest in some of the genres presented. Some of those stories have bored me to pieces. The ones in the genres I enjoy, so far, have been entertaining.

Hmmm. Not far enough in to make a decision on whether or not I like it. Thus far I'm getting a hint that the writing needs a bit of polish. It's a little... clumsy and overly wordy seeming at times.

So far I'm having to take this in small doses because the way the female companion Jo is described as "obedient" and personified as generally stupid and ignorable. I know, product of the times, but my brain treats each instance of it as a dagger in the ribs. :-p

Enjoying this book so far. :-)

I'm thinking most fans of contemporary werewolf fiction will feel horribly bored by this series. Like the first, this one is mired down in too much description of architecture and nick-knacks which don't seem to have a lot of relevance. In fact, there isn't a lot of plot (beyond planning a big Christmas) event to this book to be honest.

Renting Odd Thomas online: best $4 I've spent so far this year! They were amazingly true to the book and it was a very fun ride the whole way through. I hope they make more! Anton Yelchin is the perfect Odd Thomas! And it really only cost $3 since Amazon gave me a $1 promotional MP3 credit for the rental. Double score! If you've never read the series by Dean Koontz, I highly recommend it. They are really fun books.

This is taking me forever because Roy Dotrice's voice is good at lulling me to sleep now that I have a decent bed. I keep having to rewind to find the place where I drifted off. LOL
