I'm having the hardest time getting in to this book.

The descriptions... are killing me. I'm trying really hard to love this because it's giving me a deadly prem/twin peaks vibe.

Yes, that's right, I'm reading Goosebumps.

What have you done to this series? To these characters?

4.5 really, but I enjoyed it. Fresh inspite of trope.

Some constructive criticism, please stop using characters who are angry at the world and make stupid decisions and avoid all consequences.

I bought this book before the epic failure of "The Shadow Throne", the epic failure to Nielsen's last trilogy. Page one... the main character already sounds exactly like Jaron. Turn off.

I'm having a hard time getting through this book. At first I was digging the author and she seemed really gentle and spiritual, but several small chapters in she starts on about the, "this is good, this is bad", "think like this, not like this", types of advice and it truly feels tilted and preachy.

I feel like an asshole because every other review is "Can we JUST..." because of the writing style.

Started and stopped this book because it was so beautiful and so overwhelming. I'm waiting for the right time to break it out again.

I keep forcing myself to reread this and work on my imagery skills. Don't judge.

I have been trying to get through this book for so long that I've started to like it. Legit, it's been a part of my life for like a year. There's something wrong with that.

I really want to love this book. The writing style is making it hard. We'll see.

Audiobook version. I picked this up for my long drives around the world in the name of the CFSM, but I haven't gotten far. So far, it's got some cute ideas.

I really want to love this book. The concept was refreshing to me. There are plenty of quirky fantasies out there with wacky names, but not only are some of the naming schema turning me off, but so is the way the book is written. I've hit a major stall with this one.

The book is vsstly less rape-y than the show. Thank god.

Completely engrossing.
