This feels like a modern anime. Or should I say modern anime feels a lot like this.

I’m so looking forward to this book. My wife is giving birth tomorrow to our second son, and this will be my main accompanying item other than a couple pairs of clothes, a bible, and a cigar. Tonight, I finished a few chapters, and they invigorated me. In a world mostly stifled and recycled, Dostoevsky opens the window for my soul to breathe deeply of the fresh air outside.

I’m through the first 3 enneads. Absolutely fascinating stuff. I’m going to have to revisit certain parts of interest with a commentary to get more out of them.

I’ve listened to a few installments of these “great courses” series, and they’re all pretty good. This one is by far the best one I’ve listened to though. Elizabeth Vandiver did an amazing job. This is extremely helpful and informative concerning Greek tragedy. I kind of wish I had listened to this before reading any of these plays.

Been slowly working through this one with a good friend. We spend an hour going over a few chapters every Friday. Very thought provoking so far.

Currently listening to the audiobook of this as I drive from Southern Texas to Oregon.

Okay, I’m just now starting to get interested. I don’t know why, but there was a real disconnect for me in the beginning. I was finding it hard to focus on the story.

So far this has been a wonderful historic survey of philosophy. As I’m currently working through Plato and on my way to Aristotle, I’m glad that I picked this up. It shows the ways in which these two ancient philosophers helped to shape the west. As with any sweeping survey of history it has it’s faults. It’s keeping me interested though, and it’s making me want to buy more books!

This one is gonna take a while, but I have to say, this might be the best way I’ve ever found to learn a language.

When he’s not being wildly esoteric or universalist, he provides wonderful insight in his critiques of modernism.

Listened to the lectures dealing specifically with Homer. It’s a good resource in my opinion.

This is my first time with this book, and I’m currently listening to the translation by W. H. D. Rouse. I have no experience with any other translations, but this one is quite fast paced and enjoyable. This book has me thinking most about the frailty of our human lives.

Currently writing a review. When I began this revisiting of Shakespeare, I never imagined that I would love Shakespeare so much. As a youth I was disinterested, but now they feed my soul. These works are the pinnacle of the English language.

I finished this last night, but I will be re-reading a few times in order to sort out my thoughts. This is my first time revisiting Shakespeare since my initial exposure in high school. I wasn't quite equipped at the time to appreciate it. Coming back to this as an adult, it is absolutely marvelous. I think I will work through several of his plays this year.

Liking this book so far, although it is even harder than in Crime and Punishment for me to keep track of the character's names.

About half-way through this dark and psychological crime novel. So entranced, beginning to feel like I am losing my mind as well.

I’ve put this book off for 10 years, finally starting it today! Feeling good about it.

Evola’s esoteric understanding of traditionalism differs from my own perspective, but occasionally we align. Well worth it for those moments alone.
