Looks like straight corn….

Really struggling getting into this… I like the story but I’m just bored.

Judging this hard because I didn’t like where the author went with the crowns of nyaxia series. I was staying to get into this but I just met Max and his lines are cheesy AF.
Also why is this “specialized order” bending over backwards for Tisannah and making concessions for her? Maybe it’s explained later but I’m over this book already.

Hesitant to red thins since I really didn’t like the last series…. But we’ll give this author another shot

Wait I’m confused….. if Helena was fighting with her mother against pelias, how did she survive / how did she become close enough to Pelias after the war to build a cave tomb for him with his blessing…..?

Lidia thinks in the middle of a cave is a good time to tell Ruhn how much she wants him….?

Soooo tired of the multiple povs switching so quickly

Seline’s rant had good info but way too long - also there was nothing happening… Bryce, Az, and Nesta just stood there listening? They weren’t concerned about a distraction or something…?

Thoughts so far:
- Not loving Bryce in this book….
- I get the tension in Prythian - both sides are cautious of the other - but REALLY wish they parted on better terms. It kills me that our beloved ACOTAR characters were totally burned.
- underwhelmed with Jesiba’s origin - appolion “touched” her and she got magic….? Ok….
- lidia has kids?! Also, loving her character
- please get rid of tharion and ithan

World building lacks - they just got to fire kingdom and they said it’s mostly a sand desert but now there’s a mountain and a giant tree?
Also this trip to fire is going to last “weeks” but took 2 days to get from one side of the continent to the other (according to the map and the timeline given in the chapters)….
This book is for tipsy beach reading where you don’t need to pay full attention to details

I think this book would be better if we didn’t have Roman’s POV. I think I may love Carver while slowly falling for Roman and enjoy the surprise when they are one and the same. But for now I’m a little bored waiting for the reveal to the MC. Just not as into this as I expected from the hype

So far having a hard time getting into this book. Devon’s character traits feel misaligned. He’s apparently a flirtatious, charismatic guy but most of his interactions with people don’t go well. He says the wrong things, doesn’t make people feel comfortable to talk to him, his partner doesn’t like him…. You’d think a guy that allegedly makes women fall all over him would have better people skills.

Want to set it down but I have nothing else to read at the moment, so I guess it’s good enough to keep turning the pages to find out what happens. Not a fan of the writing - the character is supposed to be 28 but has the inner dialogue of a 13 year old.
