I'm really enjoying this. If it keeps up, looking at a 5 star read.

Enjoying this much better upon a 2nd read through. Literally remember none of it though, so it’s like reading it all again for the first time.

Dare i say it this is shaping up to be one of my favourite books of the year. It’s slow to start, and there’s a lot to process and absorb, but once you get to the 100 page point it really picks up. I’m hoping the rest of the book holds up to the same standard. 😁🙏

So far I’m getting Witcher vibes, and his trusty sidekick (ex-slave) seems to be the bard who spins a tale way out of proportion. My bet? This guy is going to get himself into a lot of trouble somewhere down the track.

I’m really enjoying this book so far. The different time and social classes and structure are fascinating. A lot is petty bickering between geisha, but it’s interesting to see how politics were manoeuvred by women in the early 1900’s.
