Genuinely cracking up (or horrified??) at how much I can relate to Nikolai esp in these ways: enjoying being bare except for shorts, manic states & cravings for violence (though I don't actually inflict), bi disaster, looking up the etymology of the names of people I care about, holding breath under water as meditation, & a messy unorganized fuck at home bc wtf is whites/delicates only.

You've heard of Porn-Without-Plot. I introduce you to: Entertaining and Wonderfully Developed Characters with Glorious Chemistry....And Without much of a solid Plot. And I love it.

I haven't laughed this consistently throughout a story in a long time (probably since BATMOBILE iykyk) so excited to finish but sad it's over so soon.

Okay so I am definitely loving this way more than the first time I am reading it. I love stories when I am not in such a critical mindset. The first 1/4 of the book will always be meh to me and the timestamps are ridiculous. But I adore the shit out of these characters (except Dominique, Kaleo, and Jerome theyre so annoying to me.) Nikolas and Sarah OTP!!!!! I am OBSESSED with their interactions and dynamic!!!

So begins the book hopping. This so far is a frustrating read, it's convoluted though with some pretty great & quotable one-liners that gave me pause. I recently realized, after many irl r/s attempts challenges, that I may be on the asexual spectrum so I sought out resources and was excited to pick this one up. I am hopeful I'll be able to connect with this book at some point. My sis said just go back to Tumblr lol.

Listening to the audio book and I love the narrators. I am very much loving this - it's the perfect mix of suspenseful, gory, dark, indulgent, mystery and totally corny and imperfect. Spoiler: I love the way CNC is described and written here :)!

Omfg, the way I'm just DEVOURING this second book! REDEMPTION. I'm so happy to see it is much better to follow and has a better flow. I am enjoying the characters a lot more in this one (though I still think 1 or 2 of them weren't very well developed), and the plot is so much fun. This is easily already in my eyes 4 stars for me. So excited to see continue this series!

SO. GOOD. I'm only halfway done and I already know this is gonn be among me top 5 fave shadowhunter universe books UGHHH. KitxTy and Kierkitina give me LIFE.

Chapter 4's ending made me go cold, I was NOT expecting the intensity of that revelation holy sh-.

It's taken over a year and a half but I'm ALMOST FINISHED WITH CHAIN OF GOLD. AH.
