This is at least my fourth time reading Stoner. Each time, it evokes similar emotions but a new respect for the title character and more disdain for Lomax and Edith!

I think I've read this book at least four times; maybe five. Every time I read it, I think I see a different aspect to the personality of Stoner and something 'new' in his surroundings that make me feel like it's the first time I'm reading it again and again. The writing is beyond superb.
