Omgosh. This guy seems unable to see that his wife was mentally ill and he was sadly co-dependent. Very hard to listen to but for the wrong reasons.

As juicy as they come.

I never used to dislike the pair but their self-serving, bratty, entitled behavior has soured me on both l who apparently deserve each other. Not sure how this will all end but I do know it will not end well for anyone involved. These are the kind of people who sow fields with salt and then blame everyone else but themselves for their failures.

Omg. This is both riveting and devastating. My heart is getting crushed all over again. New perspectives galore. Tears aplenty. Some wounds never heal.

This is surprisingly revealing and insightful. The author’s personality shines through which gives me the thrilling sensation that I am listening to Sandro Romanov tell me his story of the last years of hte Romanov dynasty. It is just plain thrilling to have someone who lived in another time and place speak to you.

I am deeply engaged with this memoir - I know the whole story but to have it told sympathetically has made this a standout for me.

Not much to say at this point. It’s likable but I’m not very involved with any of the characters.

Sophie was a friend of the Empress and therefore, this biography is very supportive of the Empress which is to be expected. I find it worthwhile to understand Alexandra Feoderovna through the lenses of those who knew her best, as so many historians are hyper-cynical of the Romanov’s and I keep thinking, there must be more to the story than cold cynicism as surely there is.

I am surprised as I expected this to be serious and unless I am missing the point totally, it is not that way at all. Seems like a madcap adventure to me.

I wish this had been a short story, or a novella even. The premise is interesting but it is just dragging on and on. It would have been so much better if it was shorter.

This book is fabulous! I have been crocheting and knitting for my entire life and never knew how much I didn’t know about yarn. It is great fun to learn all about it now, as I try to add spinning to my repertoire.

Terrible times for people during the War of the Roses. Much social upheaval and economic insecurity. Illuminating.

Gossipy, not news and not new, but what stands out for me is the degree of absurdity in the persona of Steve Bannon. I love when self-important people discover where they actually are in the food chain, and if nothing else is accomplished by this book, that is good enough for me.

The Trump stuff - not anything that we don't already know.
