So consumed with Lahiri's direct prose and the details she chooses to focus on. It's just MAKING every character and I'm swooning

It's.... something. I do like her narrative voice very much. It's powerful. The idea is thereee (?). The little reach of trying to include Islam with "the hand of Fatima" makes...no sense. Cringed past"Look to Fatima, not Muhammad"

I... don't feel very confident in King's ability to conclude the mess he's created satisfyingly. If the highschool boy whose Super Duper Angry that Stu stole HIS Girl 😠💢 ends up being a major plot device....... I have no words. If he's a step to more sinister things, sure. But also, there are only so many ways you can make the Walkin Dude seem scary. Atp, hell, I'LL ride him

This has become King's thesis on what strand of humanity would rule out the other, the good or the evil. Interesting at times, boring and drawn out at the worst of times but I'm not giving up at this point.

I'm not enjoying this 😭but in the way I'm meant to not enjoy it, by which I mean it's a solid start

I'm sooooo jittery omg. It's a nice twist for the characters and story to know the murderer's identity and keep it hidden from the reader. This book has its faults in the writing and I'm not so much a fan of the 1-2 page chapters but I love the twisted-pair of paranormal and thriller I CAAAANT

I'm absolutely, insanely absorbed by how GOOD this is. I literally cannot stop reading, like I can't stop READING?

if this is YA as the goodreads tags say it is, it is some of the best YA I've read. this is an i n c r e d i b l e read so far. there is no good and no bad, only the grey in-between, i'm so OBSESSED. Schwab, I didn't know you got down like that. I WILL be purchasing everything queen has released.

Incredibly morally dubious characters. Why isn't this mentioned more in "dark academia" lists?
