I haven't read this book for at least 20 years. I liked it in high school, and I like it now. It's such a relevant piece of fiction that should be required reading for every person.

Ruby is funny. Sick Ruby is absolutely hilarious. I haven't laughed out loud reading a book in a LONG time.

The beginning of chapter quotes are the best!

Everyone in this book is stupid. Except for maybe Malcolm. And Dr. Grant. And the kid, Tim. No common sense or critical thinking. 🙄

I'm about halfway through, and it finally feels like we're getting to the action. A lot of story set up to get to this point. And these short chapters are not good for my attention span.

So far this book has been a total opportunity lost. It's been almost scene by scene the same as Twilight, just with swapped genders on all the characters except for Chief Swan. Stephanie Meyer could have done so much more with the story, keeping the skeleton, but really adjusting it so that the gender swap feels more believable.

Halfway through the book, and it's finally going somewhere with the plot.
