Oh my God, it's been a while since I came across a book this immensely rich with imagination; I feel like I'd have to swallow every bit of the reality drawn, savour every underlying reflective notion carved into the mythical world presented.

For college, but it's still an interesting (and useful) read on its own. First two chapters were a bit of an irritating bore, but the following chapters have picked up pace (thankfully too, seeing how it's a requirement for me to read this). Trying not to finish this all in one sitting for fear of letting it slip from my mind so easily (as said by another reviewer - very true); and to let it sink in effectively.

How wrong was I to think that this would be a dull, slow read. But if the story revolves more on Laurel's present than Dolly's past, I have a feeling I may just be disappointed; Dolly's pre-war life (in Chapter 8, especially) is too beautifully composed for it to not be the basis of the entire book!

I feel like I lost, or rather, left a small portion of myself by neglecting my usual reading time last year (hence, my mediocre 2015 reading challenge). Anyway, this year I'm attempting not to overwhelm myself with an unachievable goal (when coupled with my laziness and piling college load), but will definitely make more time for leisure reading *pinky promising myself*
