It wouldn’t be a stretch to say The Sword in the Stone is one of the most delightful things I’ve ever read. Laugh out loud funny, heartbreakingly beautiful, and so humane and tender. T.H. White’s description of some of the animals and environments are now among my favorite I’ve ever read in any story, let alone a children’s story. I had no idea, all this time. Looking forward to reading the other 3 books.

About to quit. Sad because I loved Tartt’s other 2 books so much. The prose is beautiful and the characters are awesome but the plot is not moving anywhere and it’s becoming a chore, unfortunately. 😫
