It's giving mid, for me, I fear. AGGGTM was fantastic, but this seems a little underwhelming so far. I'm gonna finish it, but I find the narrator very shrill. Jet's mom's voice in particular is grating AF.

Hopefully this ramps up.

I don't know why it's taking me so long to finish this book, I'm actually really enjoying it. It just seems to be enjoyed in small bites

Extremely strange concept. I'm listening to Bob narrate, so it's engaging, but I have my reservations. Trying to Yes-And this non-sensical premise, and hoping it picks up. Prose is rudimentary, stale, and clunky.

woof, is this ever a debut novel. choppy dialogue and flowery nonsensical prose do not a fantasy book make.

I'm having whiplash with this. The setting is almost certainly fantasy-feeling, but with an element of technology, but just not in this village? I am reading so many positive reviews but I am left with this deep feeling of confusion, especially with words that are NOT described with preamble or explanation. This leaves me to check the index at the back of the book to decipher what the author is actually talking about

Perfection.

Reading for a Romantasy Book Club. It's fine so far; not my usual cup of tea. Happy to be reading new stories, but familiar tropes and predictability leave me wanting more.
