I have stopped reading this book on the page 80yh because i simply didn't conect with any aspect of the related story nor its charechters.Probably because i'm not very much into India in general, out of the lack of knowledge about this country, which originates from not being interested in it in the first place....so, it's why my review of the book is simply cannot be objective enough.

The story hasn't really developed by that far in the book...and the main character is not "my type" of a person to make me wanna read a book of 1000 pages. It's a wrap for me.

Who would have thought that a book about the suffragettes, cricket and WWI would work so well? Except it doesn't really...though i hope it will as i like the main character Connie and her ideals.

The most compex of Jane Austen novels. Every character has something that makes you not like him or her...and yet they are all so endearing in their particular Austian way.

Henry James is not easy to read...you have to process every word otherwise you are lost in his wordiness.
I love every character in this book...everyone is so complex, it's a real chalenge.

As all Henry James' novels with no exeption it gives you a feeling of something really sad to happen to its heroes. Milly Theale reminds me a lot of Isabela Archer though the latter had more inner strength to withstand the storms of life.

So far i'm simply enjoying the style and the general air of the era. This book is known for its first steps to feminism, breaking the standarts of the seciety and basically fallowing your heart, regardless the consequences. The simple fact of being in charge of your own happpiness. I'm sure it was the most outrageous idea at that time....it still is in some parts of the world.

Olga is on page 45 of 292 of The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
It's a story of a nine year old Rose who after trying her mother's lemon cake descovers that she can taste the feelings of other people through food they make. It's uteterly poignant right from the start beacause in her early age Rose has come to understand how unhappy and hollow her family is.

Olga is on page 78 of 273 of Talking It Over
It’s engages you right from the start. Three people, connected with each other are talking about themselves. It’s written in a form of an interview, or something like that.I might say it’s like a diary, they open up themselves in that all revealing way, no reservations, no reading between the lines....or perhaps there is, it’s like a trap, it’s possible.

"Every book is a wreck of a perfect idea". This is a painful secret all the writers share. No work they commit to paper is ever as good as the one they set out to produce.

Olga is on page 340 of 438 of The Line of Beauty
It painfully reminds me of "Brideshead Revisited". I don't see Nick's being happy...regardless his being gay, which wasn't the same in the 80s as nowadays. He's sentimental and poignantly impressionable as well as naive to make the right choices. It seems like his life has no direction, everything is so ambiguous in its meanings that he's utterly lost to see what's what.
