Necessary end-of-term trashy reading, loving it already

Not loving this so far, 90% architectural chat

It has its flaws in terms of plot but I still really enjoyed this. I just absolutely love Lara Williams’ style of bleak humour and her ability to really capture a certain way of experiencing the world.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the last thing anyone would want to read at the moment would be a 1553-page novel about a flu-like virus that wipes out most of the planet. However, King’s ability to master just the right balance of horror and entertainment (as well as his usual array of incredibly rich characters) has meant that I’ve rattled through over half of this in no time at all. So enjoyable!

Was ambivalent about this until about halfway through, am now totally hooked by what a complete bastard Arthur is.

Every single male character in this book so far is a terrible, terrible human being.

Still in two minds about this one. Equal parts interesting and SO WEIRD.

Emma is becoming much more likeable. Frank Churchill is an idiot.

Is it me or is Emma a completely manipulative and awful nightmare?!
