It was hard in the beginning to get Bella and Edward out of my head, but now that I'm far enough into it, I'm liking the gender twist. I especially think Jules is one bad ass chick. Her character alone makes me appreciate that this book was written to show that these characters could truly be EITHER gender. The story really does work either way.
