For a YA, I’d give this somewhere between a 3.5 and 4 stars. There is some cliche use of slang but for the most part it feels authentic to the angst of being a teenager and in your final year of high school with relationship and friendship dramas.

In terms of writing style and consistency I would probably give it a lower score but considering what she went through, and how she was able to find her voice…4 stars

Easy read but enjoyable.

This book was a great read. Michael recognises his memory limitations as he was mostly 4 years old for the largest part of the story but he (and his daughter) manage to help the reader learn about his family’s experiences in a way that feels authentic. This is not the story for every holocaust survivor but it’s interesting to learn his. 4.5 stars

Interesting book. I listened to the audiobook and felt it helped me understand the purpose of the book. Hannah has experienced so much in her life and she read this book aloud in a way that I would not have understood in the physical book. 4.5 stars

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Some awesome twists and turns. Wish it wasn’t over though

I enjoyed this book. I guessed most of the twists and turns but still had a lot of fun reading the books.
