Seems like a great ode to De Cervantes. Fun so far. Great literary references as well as reality tv references. Some great commentary on race issues and the state of the US. This is my first read of a book in the magical realism genre. It's a little disorienting for a bit but then gets to be pretty entertaining.

Great to hear a first-hand perspective about immediately after the abolition of slavery.

Omg this book is long, but worth it so far. I love this story. Victor Hugo has a charming way of writing.
