I think this translation fits somewhere in the mix of the CSB, NIV, and ESV-it reads a bit easier than the ESV, while staying a bit more "true" than I find the NIV to be. I've found so much tooling for it for free as well (it's free in Logos, an interlinear is free in e-Sword, and it's free to use in general which I appreciate). I shall continue on! :)

The idea of an open-source translation of the Bible intrigues me, so I bought a nice copy (it even has my name on the cover!) from ChristianBooks and have been using it as my default basically since I got it earlier this year. Reads a bit easier than the ESV, a bit "rougher" than something like the NLT. I...like it.

(One of these days they'll make it easier to switch editions of what someone is reading on here...)

On chapter 7, where it transitions into a 3 chapter series on antinomianism. From the teaching perspective, I think if you're able to get past the first 3 chapters that might seem a bit "ugh" as they're more about the history, the application is where things seem to get lit...

Teaching a class at my church based on this book and we're...on chapter 7! You have 3 chapters of history which then set the context for discussion around legalism, antinomianism, and assurance of salvation...6 classes down, 6 to go.

(sn: pretty sure I've read this book like 20 times at this point, kinda have lost track...)

I'm listening to this via Audible and I think that might actually be the way to go with this...it is originally a radio address, and the reader for this audiobook is reading it in that fashion...it makes for an engaging listen that I have really enjoyed taking notes from.
