Due back at the library and never got into it enough to speed read through, so dnf-ing for now.

Not exactly what I wanted from this book when I heard about it (a lot of client stories, but I wanted the science) though still engaging.

DNFing. Switched from the audiobook to the ebook (yay for libraries) which was way better but whenever I pick it up I think longingly of the other books I could be reading instead, so I'm calling it.

I think this book needed to be in first person, which is usually the last this I want but third person is really limiting its emotional range. The humour is great though and it’s a good bedtime read.

I won’t lie I’m listening to the audiobook which is read by the author and I think it’s making me hate her. Some of the choices she makes in reading her writing make her actions seem even dumber than if I were reading them with my own inflections. I’m a sucker for juicy gossipy tell alls and I will probably see this one through, if only to say fuck you to meta

Prose is gorgeous and I will keep reading because this book is compulsively readable but it turns out divorce memoirs are an ick I didn't know I had so...

Some of the most challenging (in a good way) writing on parenting I’ve ever read tbh. My jaw is also just constantly on the floor at the incredible prose and also the way Li articulates in language some of the most difficult feelings.

Absolutely living up to the hype (and I say this as someone who has tried and failed to read huck Finn a bunch of times).

Omg this book. Started out skeptical but I trusted the author and I was right to.

Can’t stop thinking about The Man Who Wasn’t there by Dan box, about a different territory with different laws where the opposite of what happened in this trial occurred, exposing similar flaws in the Australian justice system. Garner is at her best and I’m loving it, but the understanding of mental health is so late 90s I cringe every time it’s brought up.

DNFing at 60%. Finding myself avoiding going back to it, with very little investment in the characters.

Started this last night and it’s on track to be another 5 star read- rose excels at characters you love wholeheartedly and that talent is very much on display here. Am getting a lot of stops for my summer Tasmania itenerary.
