Not sure how I feel about the sex scene, but this narrator’s character voices have got to go, hahaha. I don’t know why he gave that one woman a strangely high-pitched voice, or why Bernard sounds so absolutely ridiculous, but it’s very distracting.

THIS BOOK IS TRYING TO MURDER ME. MURDER. ME.

I WAITED THREE HOURS FOR THEM TO KISS AND I’M SCREAMING. IT’S PERFECT

I love them. I love them so much. Their relationship is so gentle and tenuous and it’s killing me in the best way possible.

I think I’m going completely insane. Is the writing perfect? No. Are there inconsistencies? Yes. Am I fucking GRIPPED by the sexual tension? Good Lord, yes.

The narrator of the audiobook is quite good, but I can’t for the life of me understand why his vocal tics are so distracting. Every time he pauses, breathes at the end of a paragraph, or licks his lips, it’s the loudest thing on the recording. 10/10 for his Shae voice though. Arthur…will take some getting used to.

I…can’t believe I bought into Tyler’s good guy image. The truth fits him perfectly, unfortunately.

Every time I reread this book, I’m reminded that the prologue feels like the longest chapter ever. Thank god for all the context and recaps though; I forgot that was in there! Makes picking up from here much, much easier.

What a poetic victory! It feels like it was ripped right out of a novel.

I’m glad I decided to reread this because HO BOY I forgot about the murder. Wow, that chapter hits like a ton of bricks.

“A Question of Price” was the best chapter/short story yet, by far. Not a single woman’s chest size was described and there was only two misogynistic jokes. A win all around.

Does this author just hate women? All this misogyny is really getting in the way of enjoying the monster fights.

“But Stregobor always looked as, according to every rule and notion, a wizard should.”

“None of the wizards Geralt knew looked like Stregobor. Most surprising of all was that Stregobor was, indeed, a wizard.”

WHICH IS IT, ANDRZEJ? YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. AND THIS WAS IN THE SAME PARAGRAPH.

“Geralt raised his head” has appeared 3 times in the last 5 pages

I can’t believe this book opens in the most “male fantasy” way possible. Did I just block that from my memory

I’m actually…sad????

“Lord Wind Master, why don’t you put down the broom and we can talk things out?” has got to be the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a joke in a book in my life.

Even two (?!) years later, this book slaps. It’s incredible how long this series has had a hold on my brain.

This book is INSANE. One minute you’re laughing, one minute you’re hopeful, then the next you’re trying not to burst into tears. “The universe has no light in it anymore.” Excuse me while I go die.

Okay, but why is the audiobook so fucking funny? James Fouhey, I underestimated you.

I listened to over an hour of this audiobook and it straight up wasted my time. I think the female narrator was excellent; absolutely carried the book. But the male narrator? He’s so terrible I’m DNFing. Arg.

I can’t BELIEVE how badly Robbie butchered the names of the Portuguese dishes in the narration. God knows I love him

Is Robbie using the weirdest, high-pitched voice to sound like a little girl??? Why????

I just want to honour how much of this book I read before giving up. It really could’ve been something, I think.

Ah, dub-con. That’s a no from me
