Very quick read. Story is completely unhinged, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. FMC was petty and savage, she played the long game.

Very quick Novella

Really enjoyed this book, especially towards the end. I kept forgetting the FMC was only 16

Liking the moment between Zaira and Thane. I only have 80 pages left, there’s no way this story wraps up by the end of this book. Author took so long to get to the destination that this must be the first of a planned series.

Lots of action, picking up stragglers along the way. Zara and Thane finally had a moment though it seems odd, as there was no real build up to it, slight anticipation at most. We finally learn something person about Thane. Doesn’t feel like they will ever get to their destination, feels like they get stopped, or side-tracked or attacked at every stop. The journey feel like it’s never ending

Really getting in the heart of the plot, really good so far. More character introduced, trying to remember who they all are.

Violet and her squad / friends have stolen two of the journals of original 6, they can now learn how the original wards were created. Alot happens but the two surprises: Dain finally seeing the truth, turns against the school and helps Violet, agrees to the rebellion. Second surprise, she runs into her mom - there confrontation was insghtful as her mom showed true emotion for Violets well being

Story is progressing, finally got some human interaction from Thane (MMC). I am starting to like Zaira, both characters have a ways to go before I can be invested in either of them.

This is definitely going to be a slow burn romance. Thane the male main character hasn’t said much at all, no thought on him yet.

Starting off slow, wish we got a little more back story on the FMC. It would help the reader (me) understand not just the world they live in but the urgency / desperation the FMC feels to save her sister. I’m stating chapter 9 and I still don’t know who the older sister of the two is, what happened to their family or why her sister decided to steal. Feels promising, let’s see how the rest unfolds

So far so good. It’s becoming more obvious that the corruption and lies run deep. Wish Violet and Xaden got to spend more time together. Hate the new vice commander. Hopefully we get to see either violets sister or mother have a full scene with her.

I like how it started right where the last book stopped. No major time jump or scene change.
