Omg, how does that even work? She was drugged on pain meds.

The prosecutor, Todd Webb, said that one reason for their declining to prosecute Randy Vanett was that the victim in this case “cannot testify as to what happened because she has no personal knowledge of what happened.” But that’s hardly surprising, given that she was unconscious when she was assaulted.

Almost all went in a way wrong today. Something that would have taken an hour took the whole day, but it seems to work now, and it have me the time to listen to a few more chapters. Darwin has such a positive writing style in this issue.

The last few minutes I'll listen to on the way back home.

This is quite the heavy chapter. The excuses and descriptions the media gave these criminals (even mass murderers), are all a bit rage-inducing.

"Himpathy imaginatively transforms presumptively brutal murders into understandable acts of passion or, alternatively, warranted desperation. And it imaginatively turns other crimes, such as rape, into mere misunderstandings and alcohol-fueled mishaps."

"Admittedly, “misogynist” is a judgmental, pejorative term, and I don’t think we should swing it about too freely, lest this important linguistic weapon lose its characteristic “punch” and power."

I feel like a lot of words, especially those used in activist movements, have lost their power.

"it would be wrong to call us misogynists on the whole. That label should be reserved for the chief offenders."

I'm not a fan of math, but instead of lines and lines of formulas, the Theory is explained with examples of lighting, trains and moving clocks. It's quite a fun read.
